Brennan secures National Capital Authority contract

Brennan awarded multi-year federal contract to manage NCA’s IT and cybersecurity landscape

Canberra, Australia | 18 August 2025

Australia’s largest systems integrator, Brennan, has been awarded a multi-year contract by the National Capital Authority (NCA) to manage its IT and cybersecurity environment.

The agreement - an initial three-year term with options to extend to up to nine years - will see Brennan, alongside its Canberra-based cybersecurity business, CBR Cyber, deliver a comprehensive suite of managed IT services.

The contract includes delivery of strengthened cybersecurity capabilities, a virtual CTO and CISO advisory function, and a modern digital operating model tailored to meet the NCA’s evolving needs.

Brennan Managing Director, Dave Stevens, said the appointment by NCA was a key milestone in the company’s federal government growth strategy.

“Over the past few years, we’ve invested significantly in building on our sovereign capabilities to deliver secure, scalable technology environments that meet the specific requirements of government.”

“With CBR Cyber now a Brennan company, we offer a full-service, security-first model, covering everything from architecture to operations, with all control, support, and governance delivered in Australia. This ensures sensitive data remains protected and onshore, where it belongs.

“Our appointment by the NCA affirms the strength of this model and positions us well to support more federal agencies with modern, resilient, and secure digital services in a rapidly evolving landscape

“It marks a significant expansion of Brennan’s footprint in Canberra, further establishing the company as a leading provider of secure, sovereign ICT services to the Australian public sector.”

Former CBR Cyber Managing Director and Brennan Federal Manager, Andrew Weir, said with CBR Cyber becoming a Brennan company, it creates a credible, sovereign alternative to global integrators for federal government agencies.

“As a result of the acquisition, Brennan brings national reach and mature capabilities coupled with local presence and accountability,” Mr Weir said.

“Government agencies face complex, high-stakes challenges, particularly around cybersecurity and operational continuity. Our response to the NCA is a strong example of how we combine deep public sector experience with technical rigour to deliver meaningful outcomes.”

“As part of the Brennan True Performance System, we’re committed to a people-first approach, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and enabling the smoother adoption of new systems,” Mr Stevens said.
