Windows 10 FREE upgrade is ending soon

Microsoft is making Windows 10 available as a free upgrade, until 29th of July 2016. The free upgrade is a full version of Windows, not a trial or introductory version.

In February, Microsoft offered the latest version of Windows as a ‘Recommended Update’ for those who are running Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.

In the world of Windows Update, a Recommended update is one that automatically downloads and installs on devices whose owners have not changed their settings from the default.

This free upgrade is available to both home users and businesses, so may have a direct impact on the devices and servers that you use every day.

It is important to think about how this upgrade may affect your IT strategy. Many organisations are keen to avail of the upgrade, but depending on your IT environment, the move may not be right for you just yet.
