- Local Government Super engaged Brennan IT to redesign its IT infrastructure
- The project has been recognised by the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees
(March 2016) An IT solution designed and implemented in partnership with Brennan IT and superannuation fund Local Government Super (LGS) has been recognised by independent industry body the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST).
The AIST Awards for Excellence celebrates companies working within the not-for-profit superannuation sector that deliver projects, campaigns and solutions that are in the best interests of their members. LGS took out the Best Internal Project for funds under $10Bn for its ‘Information Technology Strategy Project’, which was a collaborative project between LGS and Brennan IT.
LGS engaged Brennan IT to completely redesign its IT infrastructure. The whole-of-business project involved designing IT architecture that would support LGS’ head office in Sydney and eight regional offices across New South Wales and had to meet APRA requirements.
This transition included changes to networking, telephony and mobile device management, printing, disaster recovery, backup and recovery, and server infrastructure. The project entailed a complete overhaul of the IT back end while the front end remained largely unaltered.
LGS thanked the Brennan IT team for working tirelessly to create a seamless transition.
“The IT Strategy Project, a whole of business project, had a multitude of stakeholders involved. The project was built around a move from a traditional on-premise IT model to a Cloud solution which delivered significant cost saving and increased efficiency and productivity. The project had outstanding benefits in reducing costs and providing a wide range of other solutions across the fund,” said LGS Head of Projects and IT, Kim Heng.
Commenting on the win, CEO of Brennan IT Stephen Sims said the award was a testament to the great teamwork shown between the two companies.
“We’re thrilled to hear that this project has been recognised by an industry body. The team at Brennan IT have worked collaboratively with LGS as it was a massive undertaking and wouldn’t have been possible without the support and expertise from both teams,” said Stephen.
