Australia's own PRISM facility?

It has been revealed that the Australian Government is currently building a secret facility which is designed to monitor the electronic communications that Australia shares with the United States. The facility is located in the Canberra suburb of Harman, where the Defense Signals Directorate (DSD) will be within a data center. DSD is the Australian equivalent of the US National Security Agency (NSA) which made headlines this week when the extent of its spying operations on US citizens was revealed under the PRISM electronic surveillance program. It has been reported that Australia’s intelligence agencies are receiving large quantities of data from US intelligence agencies, with some even coming from the PRISM program itself.
